UNDATED (WKRC) – Apple has released an urgent update to fix iOS security issues.
According to CBS News, the tech giant urged iPhone users to download the newest version of its latest operating system to patch the security issues. Per the network, the iOS 17.1.2 update brings no new features, but fixes several vulnerabilities.
“This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users,” Apple wrote on its website.
Per CBS, the update will patch vulnerabilities that could have already been exploited. The issues relate to Apple’s internet browser engine that enables Safari, called WebKit. According to CBS, browsing web content could potentially disclose sensitive information.
The company said that it was “aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited against versions of iOS before iOS 16.7.1.”
According to CBS, the second update patches “a memory corruption vulnerability.”
