Americans would be able to demand tech companies delete all the personal information collected on them when they were younger than 13 years old under a proposal introduced Monday.
Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), along with Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), released the measure ahead of a Tuesday committee hearing on kids’ privacy. Under the bill, Americans would be able to ask for platforms to delete data that was collected through indirect sources such as data brokers as well.
