Amazon Avoids Liability in Security Software Infringement Case – Bloomberg Law


Amazon.com Inc. didn’t infringe the patents in a software security program by providing the package to its customers, a federal court said.

The defendant didn’t allege that Amazon’s product used each and every element of its patented system, the opinion by Judge Xavier Rodriguez of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas said Wednesday. Rodriguez dismissed the suit with prejudice.

CTD Networks LLC holds the four patents at issue, which monitor a network’s security threats.

CTD said that the Amazon Cloud Security system infringed its patents.
