Alpha to omega

In the mystical realms of divine revelations, Alpha and Omega, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet, find their place in the ‘Book of Revelations’ in the Bible. Here, they symbolise God’s embodiment as both the beginning and the end of all existence. In the tapestry of Indian beliefs, Alpha can be interpreted as ‘Aum’, the divine symbol representing the source from which creation springs forth.

However, in today’s materialistic world, where wealth creation consumes humanity, Alpha represents the rate at which wealth grows as a tantalising path to ultimate happiness. Financially, Alpha can be achieved through strategies such as growth, value, momentum; or small-, mid- and large-cap investing. These strategies mirror the spiritual practices of Karma, Bhakti and Jnana Yog as prescribed in the Bhagwad Gita. In daily life, one can achieve Alpha by bridging these disciplines.

Karma Yog entails following the righteous path of Dharma and patience with less attachment to ‘Alpha’ arising from mark up or down in valuations. Yet, in the pursuit of Alpha, we must not disregard Omega. When our embodied self departs from this world, we cannot carry wealth with us.

What endures are the divine karmas deeply embedded as the seeds of our immortal subtle body, as expounded by Krishn in the Sankhya Yog. This is the essence that completes life’s journey from Alpha to Omega.
