All iPhone owners must check now for important ‘Rapid Security Response’ update… – The US Sun

ALL iPhone owners have been urged to check for a special kind of security update which fixes bugs at brand new speeds.

The Rapid Security Response update is the first of its kind from Apple.

It should be noted that it is only available for devices running iOS 16.4.1 software and aboveCredit: Apple

Rapid Security Response lets Apple patch up cyber vulnerabilities sooner than it would through conventional software updates.

They’re designed to fix zero-day flaws – which are vulnerabilities in an operating system that is exploited the same day it is discovered.

This stops hackers from being able to take advantage of a security flaw straight away and could prevent malware from spreading among devices.

It is available in the Software Update section inside Settings as usual.

Simply open Settings > General > Software Update and look for iOS Security Response iOS 16.4.1 (a).

However, it should be noted that it is only available for devices running iOS 16.4.1 software and above.

This means it is not compatible with the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, first-generation iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus devices.

The update is reportedly being rolled out over the course of 48 hours, according to MacRumours.

This means some iPhone will have it when others won’t, so don’t be alarmed if you haven’t spotted it just yet.

Although experts at Engadget have warned that some iPhones are experiencing a glitch when attempting to download the update and have encouraged people to be patient with it.

A number of iPhones are experiencing an error warning saying iOS can’t verify the update as the device is “no longer connected to the internet”.

Apple will need time to iron out any issues with the first-time roll out of the special security update.
