The new menu will have 60 meal options curated by chefs from across India like avocado and tomato croissants, chicken tikka mint mayo & capsicum in chutney pinwheel among others, the airline said in a statement. The menu will have non-vegetarian, vegan, and healthy meal options.
“India is a melting pot of various cultures, and this reflects in our gastronomical landscape as well. With an impressive selection of 60+ items, the new Café Akasa menu is carefully curated. We have refreshed our menu in response to the resounding, positive feedback from our customers.” Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder, and Chief Marketing & Experience Officer, Akasa Air said.
The airline said that they are committed to the agenda of sustainability. The airline’s statement said that the packaging for all perishable meals is 100 percent recyclable and made from paper sourced from sustainably grown crops. Meal boxes are manufactured without bleach or other optical brightening agents (OBA) chemicals. The wooden cutlery onboard is biodegradable.
Akasa Air will also be helping the Indian government and the United Nations mission to create awareness and increase the production & consumption of millets by having a millet salad with pomegranate seeds and lemon olive oil dressing.
