Shah will succeed Chandresh Ruparel who’s the present MD & Head of India at Rothschild.
Aalok Shah, who has been with Rothschild & Co since 2006 and has worked extensively in both London and Mumbai, was appointed Co-Head of India in 2024.
In his new role, Aalok will continue to leverage his deep client relationships, strategic vision, and long-standing commitment to the firm, and he will lead the next phase of growth for Rothschild & Co’s advisory business in India, it said.
After 22 years of dedicated leadership in developing Rothschild & Co’s India business, Chandresh Ruparel will transition to the role of Senior Adviser for one year.
In this capacity, Chandresh will provide strategic counsel, mentor senior bankers, and continue to strengthen key client relationships, particularly on the corporate side, it said. Rothschild & Co has expanded its service offerings in India to include ECM advisory services.
