An Arkansas Tech University registered student organization will remember the sacrifice made by first responders on Sept. 11, 2001, with a 9/11 memorial stair climb at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.
The event will take place from 7-11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11. Participants may climb the stairs inside Tucker Coliseum individually or as a team.
The memorial stair climb is sponsored by ATU Resilience in Disasters and Emergencies (RIDE), a student organization based in the ATU Department of Emergency Management, Professional Studies and Student Affairs Administration.
ATU offers a Bachelor of Science degree in emergency management and a Master of Science degree in emergency management and homeland security.
Those unable to attend in person are invited to participate by posting stair climbing photos to social media with the hashtag #atuneverforget and by tagging @atuemhs.
