41-year-old man seriously injured after motorcycle crashes into 2 … – Lake and McHenry County Scanner

A 41-year-old man operating a motorcycle was seriously injured after crashing into a car that turned in front of him on Route 12 in Fox Lake, authorities said.

The Fox Lake Police Department and Fox Lake Fire Protection District responded around 4:10 p.m. Tuesday to the area of Ray Chevrolet, 39 Route 12 in Fox Lake.

Fire crews arrived to find a crash involving a motorcycle and two cars with injuries.

The motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man, was down on the ground suffering from multiple injuries.

Police officials said a car was traveling southbound on Route 12 when it began turning left into the car dealership.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound on Route 12 and struck the car.

The motorcycle operator, who was the sole occupant, was ejected from the motorcycle, police officials said.

The motorcycle slid into a second car after the initial collision with the first car.

The motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including numerous broken bones and facial injuries that required surgery.

Paramedics transported the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he remains hospitalized.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fox Lake Police Department.
