TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Seribu Islands, or the Thousand Islands recorded a visit of 1,641 domestic and foreign tourists during the New Year’s celebration.
Head of Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency, Puji Astuti, said that out of the 1,641 tourists, 1,538 were domestic tourists and the remaining 103 were foreign tourists.
“The number of tourists was calculated from 31 December 2022 to 1 January 2023, both on local and resort islands,” said Puji Astuti, Thursday, January 5, as quoted from Jakarta.go.id.
The tourists used high-speed and traditional vessels or water taxis from Marina Ancol Pier and Kali Adem Muara Angke Pier in North Jakarta, as well as Tanjung Pasir Pier and Cituis Pier in Tangerang, to the Thousand Islands.
The Seribu Islands Administration and People’s Welfare Assistant, H Alawi, added that the security for the Christmas and New Year holidays in the area was running safely and smoothly.
According to H Alawi, the poor weather conditions recently, services to the locals and tourists went smoothly without any issues. This was due to good coordination from all stakeholders, he added.
