The Rimac Nevera offers an unbeatable driving experience. With a 0-60 mph time of just 1.85 seconds from four electric motors, the Nevera is ready for anything. Rimac’s electric powertrain consists of two electric motors connected directly to the two wheels in the front and at the back, they have two motors also connected directly to the two rear wheels producing a total output of 1,914 horsepower and 1,741 pound-feet of torque. It offers exceptional speed. When it comes to performance cars, the Rimac Nevera sets the bar higher than ever before. Aside from its 0-60 mph time of 1.85 seconds, it can complete the quarter mile in 8.6 seconds and 180 mph in 9.3 seconds. In comparison, the Bugatti Chiron’s gas-powered engine produces 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. This produces tremendous speed, although less that the Nevera, at a 2.3 seconds 0-60 mph time. It can also complete the quarter mile in 9.4 seconds which is 0.8 seconds slower than the Nevera.

2 The Nevera Has Groundbreaking Technology For Better Handling

The Rimac Nevera has the power and handling capabilities that allow it to outperform all of its competitors, including the Bugatti. It comes equipped with a four-wheel torque vectoring system which allows for precise control over all four wheels independently. This is called the Rimac All-Wheel Torque Vectoring System (RAWTV). The system uses the nine onboard cameras, together with its LIDAR, radar, and 12 ultrasonic sensors to read the road ahead, allowing the onboard supercomputer to calculate the precise amount of torque for each independently driven wheel. It can do this over 100 times a second. RAWTV replaces conventional ABS and ESP systems and is faster and more efficient than them. It also delivers a host of new possibilities powered by its motors. The torque vectoring system helps the driver adjust the drive to his or her specific preferences.

The Nevera costs around $2.2 million which in itself is a lot of money, to be sure, but it’s still a lot less than what you’d have to pay for the Chiron, which starts at $3.3 million. In a world that is getting increasingly electrical, the Nevera will be a better investment compared to the Chiron. More and more auto manufacturers are leaving gas-powered vehicles and delving into the electric vehicle market which will make gas-powered cars more and more obsolete as the years wear on. With the incentives offered by governments to EV owners (although Rimac owners won’t qualify) together with the increase in charging infrastructure worldwide as well as the social acceptance coming with owning an electric vehicle, the $3.3 million price tag of a Chiron doesn’t look that much appealing especially when the Nevera offers tremendously more for far less. With just 150 units to be produced, the Nevera will be a collector’s item in years to come.

4 The Nevera’s Total Range And Efficiency Beats The Chiron’s

The Rimac Nevera has an impressive total range of over 300 miles. The Bugatti Chiron’s W16 quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter engine is a gas-guzzler. It has a very poor fuel economy of 9 MPG in the city and 14 MPG on the highway. This is good for 11 MPG combined. It then tries to compensate for this with a huge gas tank of 26.4 gallons. With this, the Chiron can produce a total range of between 238- and 370 miles depending on usage. In contrast, when driven in the “range” driving mode, which is specifically to maximize battery power, the Rimac Nevera has an efficiency of 30 kWh for every 100 miles. It has a 120 kWh battery which means in the “range” driving mode, it can do 400 miles on a single charge. All in all, when it comes to total range and efficiency, you can’t go wrong with the Nevera.

The Nevera also has better driver-assistance features than the Bugatti Chiron. The Rimac Nevera provides predictive cruise control and steering that makes use of high-tech cameras, radars, and sensors to detect upcoming obstacles and adjusts accordingly. This makes the ride smooth no matter where you’re headed. The Nevera has one of the most advanced autonomous driving features. It uses a unique feature built in-house called the Driver Coach which is an in-car AI that can assist the driver in everything from car safety and comfort to the driver’s enjoyment of the ride. It also provides thorough education while on the track. Compared to the Nevera, the Chiron uses an anti-lock braking system, vehicle stability control, traction control, and conventional safety systems. This can’t combat Nevera’s autonomous AI system.

6 It Also Boasts Superior Braking Technology

The Nevera has some seriously impressive braking technology. Its 300 kW of halting power makes the Nevera decelerate at 0.4 g. It provides the most effective regenerative braking system of any EV. Aside from the regenerative system, it also has six-piston calipers from Brembo as well as 15.3-inch carbon-ceramic brake discs. It makes use of an electro-hydraulic brake booster to distribute forces as needed between the electric motors and the friction brakes. When the brakes become too hot, the car switches back to the regenerative system. In comparison, the Chiron uses 3D-printed brakes forged from a single block of high-strength aluminum alloy. It uses eight-piston titanium calipers in front and six-piston rear calipers also made of aluminum. This remarkable braking system brings the Chiron from 70 mph to 0 in 160 feet, but it’s still bested by the Nevera’s 141 feet.

One would expect that a vehicle that produces a power output of 1,914 horsepower would be as loud as an earthquake when accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 1.85 seconds but the Rimac Nevera is the exact opposite. It is silent. It is so silent that the engineers at Rimac had to channel motor sounds into the cabin to combat the eerie silence. In comparison, the Bugatti Chiron has a behemoth of an engine. The W16 quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter engine was built to produce 1,500 horsepower. This produces tremendous noise at high speeds as well as wind whistles which can’t be allowed into the cabin. To combat this, the Chiron is engineered with materials that provide extra sound-deadening including double-glazed glass. With the windows down, the Chiron is a deafening drive.

8 It Beats The Chiron In Terms Of Aerodynamics

The Nevera has a drag coefficient one step up from the Chiron. That means that it has better aerodynamics and overall efficiency than the Chiron. A low drag coefficient means that the car is shaped and designed to reduce friction between itself and the air it moves through, which allows it to move quicker and more efficiently with less fuel/battery consumption. This makes the Nevera boast greater stability at higher speeds due to its unique design and shape that helps keep it securely on course for maximum speed, regardless of what terrain it may encounter. At a drag coefficient of 0.3 to the Chiron’s 0.35, it provides greater down force at higher speeds which helps hold the car down to achieve maximum performance. Its combination of aerodynamic efficiency and stability makes it one of a kind.

The EPA states that the average passenger vehicle in the U.S. produces 404 grams per mile of CO2 emissions. They are looking to bring it down to 132 grams per mile of CO2 emissions for passenger vehicles and 187 grams per mile of CO2 emissions for light trucks. In comparison, the Bugatti Chiron’s behemoth of an engine produces 571.64 grams per kilometer which is equivalent to 920 grams per mile. In comparison, the Rimac Nevera produces 0 grams per mile of CO2 emissions. This is because of its electric powertrain which doesn’t produce any form of greenhouse gasses like gas-powered engines would. Its four electric motors are powered by a 120 kWh battery pack which can be charged by a 500kW DC fast charger from 10-80 percent in just about 10 minutes.

10 The Nevera’s Powertrain Is Cheaper To Run And Maintenance

Another advantage of the Rimac Nevera’s electric powertrain over the Bugatti Chiron’s traditional, gas-powered engine is cheaper maintenance costs. Electric cars don’t require oil and other fluids for lubrication, so you’ll save a lot of money on maintenance bills. They are also equipped with fewer moving parts that make you less likely to need a major repair. This further adds to your savings. In comparison, cars with traditional, gas-powered engines need to be checked and serviced more frequently. This means high maintenance costs in the long run. So, in addition to the lower initial investment in an all-electric car like the Nevera, you’ll end up saving money in the long run with its electric powertrain. For instance, a gallon of gas costs $3.42, so the Chiron’s 26.4 gallons will cost over $90 to fill. In comparison, the Nevera’s 120 kWh battery will cost $16.8 per full charge at a national average of $0.14 per kWh.
